As you already know, I do recommend Gary Fong products. Since I became a fan of the lightsphere series, I have always visited the Gary Fong website. I have recently discovered a new product from Mr. Fong which they called the GearGuard™ by Gary Fong.

To put simply, it is a way to lock your Camera Bag so that no one will steal, or find it difficult to steal the contents of your bag. It doesn’t need to apply to a camera bag only or DSLR Bag, you can also use it on any kind of bag. You can see the trademarked mechanism on the next page, although I don’t have details to the kind of material used for the items, I just find it interesting and might be a good addition to the current stuff you own to protect your bag (Aside from putting a Big PadLock on your bag)…

Yes, people intent to steal your stuff wouldnt even slash your camera bag, they will snatch the bag instead even with the GearGuard installed. But this nifty little addition is for times you are carrying your stuff around and it would delay would be robbers from tinkering with your stuff. Also theres a military/industrial grade string that comes with it to wrap your whole bag with that I think could not be simply slashed…
nice added protection, but it’s still just a slash away.
Great idea, I had a brand new lens stolen out of my bag and refuse to let it happen again!
